KMC Medical College Mangalore
KMC Medical College, Mangalore established in 1955. A constituent part of Mahi Manipal founded by Dr. TMA Pai and recognized from Medical Council of India in 1958. Also Recognized by The General Medical Council of Great Britain, The Malaysian Medical Council , The Australian Medical Council and it also received full (AAHRPP) Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs first in India and first self-financing medical college in India and also the first Institution of India followed the Public Private Partnership. The college first affiliated to Karnataka University and later in 1965 to Mysore University and followed by affiliation to Mangalore University in 1980.
KMC in 1953 where the pre-clinical section at Manipal and clinical training at Wenlock District Hospital. The first batch of students arrived in Mangalore in 1955 for their clinical training and The clinical program commenced at Manipal in 1969 with the setting up of Kasturba Hospital and the colleges later separated with the establishment of a pre-clinical section in Mangalore. Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore attached to three government hospitals and the first medical college in India to be established as a public private partnership. KMC Hospital Attavar and KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle , later established in Mangalore. KMC Manipal and KMC Mangalore, along with other institutions in Manipal consolidated to form the Manipal Academy of Higher Education . It became deemed university status in 1993 by the UGC.

KMC Manipal and KMC Mangalore ranked 9th and 21st respectively among the medical colleges of India in the NIRF 2020 Rankings and Manipal Academy of Higher Education ranked 8th among universities in the NIRF 2020 Rankings.
Manipal Academy of Higher Education ranked in the 351-400 rank bracket in Medicine in the QS World University Rankings 2021. Third in India after AIIMS, New Delhi and PGIMER, Chandigarh.
The examinations at KMC Manipal and KMC Mangalore conducted by the Manipal Academy of Higher Education. According to guidelines laid down by the National Medical Commission . In Manipal paperless exams written on a biometric secured tablet using a stylus.
KMC Manipal and KMC Mangalore have an annual intake of 250 students each for the MBBS course . Admissions in KMC based on the All India Rank obtained in NEET UG conducted by NTA. 20% of the MBBS seats in KMC Mangalore subsidized by the Government of Karnataka for the state’s residents. But Admissions to postgraduate, super specialty courses based on National Entrance Exams. In addition ,Admissions to nursing, physiotherapy, psychology and other allied health courses based on the Manipal Entrance Test.
