About The Course

B.A.S.L.P. or Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology is an undergraduate Audiology programme. The Course includes Speech pathology, Language Pathology and Audiology. The allied subjects are linguistics, Electronics, Acoustics, Psychology and Statistics. The basic medical subjects that prepare the foundation in the clinical competence are Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology and the specialized medical subjects are Otolaryngology, Neurology, and Paediatrics. The duration of the BASLP Programme shall extend over six Semesters of coursework (three academic years) plus two Semesters (one academic year) of an internship. Each semester shall consist of 16 weeks of study (excluding the time spent for the conduct of the final examination of each semester).

Bachelor in Audiology and Speech Language Pathology Eligibility
  • Admission to BASLP (Bachelor of Audiology & Speech-Language Pathology) is open to candidates who have passed the 2-year Pre-University examination conducted by the Pre-University Board of the State of Karnataka or any other examination (10+2) considered as equivalent thereto by the University of Mysore.
  • Candidates who have obtained a minimum of 50% (45% in the case of SC/ST candidates) in the PCMB group or combinations thereof, in their PUC or qualifying examination are eligible for admission.
  • Only those applicants who have studied at least three subjects from among Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics shall be eligible for admission.

  • The course is suitable for those candidates who want to deal with the normal and abnormal aspects of voice, speech and language.
  • Those candidates who are interested to study and trained in identifying individuals with hearing loss, differential diagnosis of auditory disorders, which include disorders of the middle ear, inner ear, auditory nerve and the central auditory nervous system, are a good-suit for it.
