KMC Medical College Mangalore

KMC Medical College Mangalore established in 1955. A constituent part  of Mahi Manipal founded by Dr. TMA Pai and  recognized from Medical Council of India in 1958.  Also Recognized by The General Medical Council of Great Britain, The Malaysian Medical Council , The Australian Medical Council and  it  also received full (AAHRPP) Association for the Accreditation of Human Research Protection Programs  first in India and first self-financing medical college in India and  also the first Institution of India  followed the Public Private Partnership. The college first affiliated to Karnataka University and later in 1965 to Mysore University and followed by affiliation to Mangalore University in 1980.

KMC in 1953 where the pre-clinical section at Manipal and clinical training at Wenlock District Hospital. The first batch of students arrived in Mangalore in 1955 for their clinical training and  The clinical program commenced at Manipal in 1969 with the setting up of Kasturba Hospital and the colleges  later separated with the establishment of a pre-clinical section in Mangalore. Kasturba Medical College, Mangalore attached to three government hospitals and the first medical college in India to be established as a public private partnership. KMC Hospital Attavar and KMC Hospital Ambedkar Circle , later established in Mangalore. KMC Manipal and KMC Mangalore, along with other institutions in Manipal consolidated to form the Manipal Academy of Higher Education . It became deemed university status in 1993 by the UGC.
