Vivekananda PU College , Bangalore the first college started in the year 1973, by Janatha Education Society managed by eminent individuals who have excelled in various fields and totally committed for the cause of providing good education & all round development of students.

The society was registered in 1972 by 12 promoters from various walks of life. Today we have 140 member life members in our society and it is limited to only 140. A life member can nominate one of his/her legal heirs as life member after his/her time as per our byelaw.

The society has four campuses. The city campus located on Dr. Rajkumar Road, Rajaji Nagar II nd Stage, Bangalore- 560055 on a one acre leased land from BDA. About 90,000 sq ft. building is built on this plot. Two acre of plot adjacent to this is been leased from BWSSB, to be used as playground for the students. The following institutions are run by our society in the name of Swamy Vivekananda. The total student strength in all these institutions is over 8000. Computer education has gone global. Keeping in view the importance of computer education.

The success of our college speaks volumes of the motto of the management to impart value based quality education to the needy. This is being earnestly implemented and practiced by all the concerned. Highly qualified and well experienced teachers of our college have always strive hard in maintaining the high standards of education.  The results of the college is always more than the average results of the University level with around 90 %

Facilities

Computer Center

Use of Internet along with electronic gadgets such as Computers, Lap tops, Tablets, LCD / LED Projectors, smart boards have made teaching more effective. Computer Lab, Business Lab. and Language Lab. are provided computers with internet facility contribute for effective teaching. Teachers /mentors assist the students in making use of such facilities and students advised to refer e-books, e-journals, and prepare online projects. No additional fee collected for extending these facilities. From the current academic year, e-campus program  introduced. Through this program, PPT and other online content uploaded to a website. Students may login to the website and access the content. In addition, they may also interact with the fellow students and the faculties through this forum.

Hostel facility

Boy’s Hostel:

• The college has a boys hostel with maximum capacity of 110 students
• Boys Hostel  has 28 Four Bedrooms fully Furnished.
• North Indian ,South Indian and Chinese foods are provided in the Mess attached to the Hostel.
• Aqua Guard  Filters are provided in the hostel as well as in the Mess to supply clean water.
• Automatic Generator installed to provide power in case of power failure.
• Transportation Facility provided Round the Clock in case of Emergency.
• 24 hours Hot water supplied through Solar Heater.
• Ragging completely banned in the Hostel.

Girl’s Hostel:

•  A separate hostel for girls provided in Rajajinagar to accommodate about 53 girl students.
• Foods provided in the Mess dining hall attached to the Hostel.
• Aqua Guard  Filters provided in the hostel as well as in the Mess to supply clean water.
• Generator  installed to provide power in case of power failure.
• Transportation Facility provided from Girls Hostel to VKIT campus.
• 24 hours Hot water supplied through Solar Heater.
• Ragging completely banned in the Hostel.

Sports

College provides opportunity for its students to be physically active by conducting various sports/games such as Volleyball, Basketball, Throw ball, Cricket, Shuttle badminton, Table tennis, Kabaddi.

Annual sports meet conducted to identify talented players. Players who excel in sports supported and encouragement  given to them to take part in University/State/National level competitions.

Cultural Activities

Inter class cultural competitions viz, Dance, Drama, Singing, Debate, Quiz programmes  organized to identify student’s cultural skills/talents and also encouraged to participate at Inter collegiate/University/State/National cultural competitions/fests.
