Pai Govt first grade College
Pai Govt first grade College Mangalore was established in the year 2007-2008 by the Government of Karnataka, with the aim of realising the dreams of higher education for the economically backward sections of society, on the request of the then MLA Sri Yogesh Bhat. The college, which initially began to function in Government PU College, Balmatta, was shifted to its own building in the year 2008.

The college, located in the 1.87 Acre land donated by Sahukar Padmanabha Raghunatha Pai, has a well furnished two floor building built by the donation of 2.4crore from Dr Dayananda Pai, proprietor, Century Real Estate Holders and the grants in aid of Rs.2crore by the Government of Karnataka.
Affiliation
The college has acquired ‘B’ Grade under NAAC accredition in September 2015, the 9th year of its establishment and has the 2F recognition by UGC. Recognised under the RUSA( Rashtriya Unnata Shikshana Abhiyana), a Central Government Scheme and received financial help for the development of the college.
Courses
The College has started 3 PG courses and MCom in the year 2016-17 and M.A Political Science and MSW in the year 2017-18 respectively. The college has been playing a crucial role in imparting quality higher education to the weaker sections of society since its establishment 12 years ago. It has moulded, shaped and ignited young minds through its curricular and co-curricular activities. It is the intention of the college to begin 3 PG and 2 UG courses in Science stream this year.

Library
Libraries store the energy that fuels the imagination. Thus they open up windows to the world and inspire us to explore. Library hence considered as the nucleus of a college. The inception of the library of Government First Grade College, Mangalore, concurs with the establishment of its parent institution in the year 2007. The main ive of this library is hence to provide good reading material to the students, staff and the general needy. The primary aim of our college library is to cater to the needs of the economically and socially backward students. Therefore its primarily meant for the bonafide under graduate students, faculty, alumni and members of the staff. Outsiders from other university/’institution allowed with the prior permission of principal and Librarian for a limited period. They shall however, have to consult the documents within the premises of the library. Library is the‘ Treasure-house of Knowledge.’ It also helps the students to grow intellectually and to improve their general knowledge.In addition ,Every year the library updated with the grant provided by the Department of Collegiate Education.
Youth Red cross
Youth Red Cross most important component of Indian Red Cross Society established under Central act XV of 1920. The seven fundamental principles of the Red Cross humanity, impartiality, neutrality, independence, voluntary service, unity and universality. The activities of the Youth Red Cross hence organised on Sundays and Holidays.
