National Institute of Engineering Mysuru

National Institute of Engineering Mysuru, approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and accredited by the NAAC. The NIE was given autonomous status from Visvesvaraya Technological University (VTU) in 2007. The Institute is one of the 14 colleges recognised under the MHRD and the Technical Education Quality Improvement Programme (TEQIP) across Karnataka and all its 11 departments are being run as an individual research centre under VTU.

The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) has gained Tier-1 accreditation by The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) and is eligible to receive recognition of the programmes from Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand, US and UK. The Institute offers various Engineering programmes at UG, PG and doctorate level. Additionally, it has set up 14 Centres of Excellence in collaboration with various industries and alumni in order to develop research activities. Facilities

Library

Library & Information Centre housed in the Administrative Block & having three floors including ground floor with a two mezzanine floors, measuring an area of 2661 sq.m. There are 9 staff members including qualified Librarian working in the library, having 600 seating capacity. To cater to the needs of the staff/ students, the house keeping operations of library have automated using EasyLib software package.

Hostel

The Hostel founded in 1984 to accommodate the boys, who come from different parts of the world. The hostel now has three blocks accommodating about 510 boarders. The rooms well furnished and the surroundings of hostel is very green and pleasant.

Auditorium

Modern green rooms with all facilities are provided separately. One rest room provided to meet any emergency condition. A well-equipped cafeteria is provided for food supply during the performances. Sufficient parking place with green landscaping provides an eye catching effect.
