Srinivas Institute of Nursing Sciences
Srinivas Institute of Nursing Sciences established in the year 2003, is a dynamic center for Nursing education and excellence under the banner of “Srinivas Group of Colleges” in Mangalore, Karnataka. The college is located in the Valachil Campus of the Group and offers B.Sc.(Nursing), Post Certificate in B.Sc, M.Sc. programmes affiliated to Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences, Bangalore. All programmes are recognized by Government of Karnataka, Karnataka Nursing Council and Indian Nursing Council and Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. The college has it’s own clinical facility in Srinivas Hospital Mukka.

To provide knowledge based technological education to the students and train them as a competent professional manpower with ethical values to fulfill the needs of the society and industry by implementing the State-of-the Art education including technological innovation.

Institute takes pride in preparing graduates to meet the challenges of an ever-changing world. This preparation is particularly valuable to nurses. With rapid changes in health care, nurses need a variety of skills to care for individuals, families, groups, and communities. Since our society is very dynamic, nurses must also work in diverse settings. Current worldwide changes in health care delivery provide a variety of employment opportunities for SIONS nursing graduates. Due to expanding roles and increasing professional responsibilities, baccalaureate nurses / B.Sc. (N) are commanding higher salaries compared with other professions.
Facilities
Srinivas Institute of Nursing Sciences is having its own land of 7 acres at Valachil with a building having four floors to accommodate the Institution. It is having 35 full time teachers to teach the programmes.

Class Rooms:
There are sixteen well equipped classrooms for students, i.e. 05 classrooms for B.Sc. (N) students, 05 classrooms for M.Sc. (N) students, 02 classrooms for PC. B.Sc.(N) students & 04 classrooms of GNM students. The class rooms are equipped with LCD, Loud speaker and Over Head Projector.

Laboratories:
There are eight well equipped laboratories for fundamentals of Nursing, community Health Nursing, Maternity and child Health Nursing, Nutrition, Computer, Anatomy, Physiology& Biochemistry and Microbiology for the use of students.

Library:
The college is equipped with a modern library. The library has 3,138 books and 22 Journals (national and international) relating to various Nursing disciplines. Besides, internet facility is also available in the library. It has also got a separate PG section with 10 Computers and Internet connections. The library’s Helinet also serves as a portal to selected databases, full-text journals and information resources on the World Wide Web, including, Academic Search Complete, and many subject-specific resources.

Two canteens are available for the students to suit their taste and pockets.

Sports and Games:
Realizing that the physical health or physical fitness is an integral part of holistic health, the college has provided excellent facilities for indoor and outdoor games including chess, caroms, table tennis, volley ball, badminton, football, basket ball, cricket and athletics.

A comprehensive outpatient clinic that can meet most health needs of students. Medical problems that go beyond the scope of the Health Service.

Student records:
Personal records maintained for each student. Besides separate health records also maintained with the details of Annual Medical Checkup and Vaccinations. Student’s records kept in strict confidence

Immunizations:
All the students must be take Hepatitis B (DNA) and tetanus toxoid.
