Nitte Institute of Communication
Nitte Institute of Communication (NICO), established by Nitte Deemed-to-be University in 2012 and is located in Mangalore. The institute is approved by the National Assessment & Accreditation Council (NAAC) under ‘Category A’ by MHRD.
NICO provides undergraduate and postgraduate programmes and the courses include BA(H) in Media and Communication, MA in Media and Communication, and PG Diploma in Photography and Filmmaking.
Facilities
Library
NICO has a well stocked library with over 1500 books and a separate section on DVDs. In addition to an excellent collection of books on fims, televison and communication theories, the library also has a good collection of biographies, autobiographies and novels.
Hostel
The hostellers are provided with a cot, cupboard, study table and chair. Every hostel has a solar heated water facility, common telephone, TV room, reading room/library, visitors lounge, water coolers, generators etc. the hostels also have facilities for indoor and outdoor games.
Sports Complex
Students can avail medical and dental treatment at the 1000-bed Multi-Speciality K S Hegde Hospital
