Nehru Memorial College (First Grade), Sullia, Dakshina Kannada, sponsored by the Academy of Liberal Education (Regd.) Sullia was started in 1976 under the able and dynamic leadership of its Founder President, Venkatramana Gowda with an aim to provide General Education to the rural masses. It is a co-educational institution and offers undergraduate courses in Arts, Commerce, Science, Social Work, Business Management and Post-Graduation in Social Work (MSW).

The College has an excellent library which has a good collection of books on all curricular and referred subjects. The laboratories are well equipped and have state of the art facilities. There is a State of the Art Computer Lab. The College has qualified and dedicated members of faculty who take keen interest in the academic achievements of the students. The college practices a learner-centred approach to teaching/learning.
