Facilities

 

 

Medical Lab

 

Postgraduates, undergraduates and nursing students are taught the basics of surgery,  Trauma Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life  Support and other skills, through mannequins, models and simulation techniques.

 

Cadaveric Research and Training Unit

This lab prepares and hosts cadavers that act as ‘near-life’ specimen. This helps postgraduate and medical professionals hone and advance their skills. The “Live Well, Leave Well” initiative ensures that cadaveric research at the ALC runs without pause, benefiting the medical community.

 

Central Library

Spread across 46,000 square feet, the Central Library at the Ramaiah Medical College is a repository of books, bound volumes and periodicals, accessible to students, residents and staff.

Maintained well and regularly enriches its collection in order to allow users full access to current research tools and technologies. Besides, the library is an active member of “HELINET” consortium offering more than 712 indexed national and international journals. It has more than 62 computers with internet accessibility and facilities for scanning, printing and photocopying. In addition to that, a CD and Video based journal section with ‘Proquest’ system also made available to faculty, students and staff. The institution has over 21,807 books & 11,771 back volumes and ambience to meet the needs for academic enrichment.

 

Museum

 

The museum houses 5 primary departments and has year-round designated areas for each. The display for each of these departments includes specimens, charts, educational articles, etc. All other departments have display access at the museum on a rotational basis to showcase interesting case studies. The space designed to foster collaborative learning between the multiple departments.

Students  given the opportunity to analyse a patient body right from the symptoms to the treatment in a replicated clinical setting. Also used to complement the practice of integrated teaching.
