Mangala School of Nursing
Mangala School of Nursing under the management of Mangala Charitable Trust Mangaluru is situated at Vidyanagar, Post Pedamale, Neermarga, Mangaluru – 575029, a place well connected by bus routes to all destinations. The Mangala School of Nursing was established in the year 2006. The school is located in Mangalore, a beautiful city of Southern Coastal Karnataka. The city is connected to other parts of the country by road, railway, air and sea route. The city is not only famous for its industrial developments but also for its educational activities with many educational institutions in and around Mangaluru .
Mangala Nursing Home (now known as Mangala Hospital) which is the parent hospital established in the year 1988 has now, developed as a 250 bedded Multispecialty hospital, which caters patients from cross section of the socio-economic stratum by providing latest high-tech equipments handled by professionals.
Mangala Charitable Trust® established for the purpose of alleviating human sufferings, eradication of illiteracy, poverty, imparting Vedic and modern education with an opportunity for welfare & research programme, of which Mangala School of Nursing is a unit.
We uphold and instill respect for life & human dignity of a person from conception to death. The faculty of the school believes in providing nursing education based and built on scientific principles, sound educational theory and practice in order to prepare professionally qualified nurses, who will be able to function as the team member in all health care agencies in the role of a practicing nurse. With this experience one can rapidly move to leadership position in nursing education, nursing service & administration.
The faculty of Mangala School of Nursing believes that school of nursing is a formal educational programme which should provide a broad and sound foundation with specific competency. Nursing is a profession that is to be practised and propagated irrespective of caste, religion or sex. We also recognize the necessity of developing deep pride for the nursing profession amongst the students to enable further professional growth.
Objectives
The Nursing Course offered by Mangala Charitable Trust® contributes not only towards divers health needs of the local people, but also caters to qualify patient care as well as towards preparing quality health care personnel for the entire country and abroad. The course is designed to provide a balance of professional and general education and to enable students become professional nurses.

PARENT HOSPITAL – MANGALA HOSPITAL & MANGALA KIDNEY FUNDATION:
We have our own Parent hospital a 250 bedded Multi Speciality edifice in the heart of the city of Mangaluru where the specialized clinical training will be provided. This is a Parent hospital which has got all the specialties and departments under one roof. The hospital is well equipped with modern technology like Ventilators, Trauma Centre, Dialysis Unit, Maternity and Child Health care and Cardiac ICU, NICU, Operation suites, MICU Labour Theatre, Department of Physiotherapy, Dental Clinic and Eye Speciality Clinic, Yoga and Naturopathy etc., The variety and the number of cases attended in this hospital has become a great boon to the students training.

1.GOVT. DISTRICT WENLOCK HOSPITAL :
Wenlock Hospital a well known Multi Speciality 1000 bedded hospital located in the heart of Mangaluru city within the walking distance from our campus. Since its inception in the year 1848, it has been providing medical care to the poorer sections of the society of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Shimoga, Chikmagalur, Hassan and Coorg district of Karnataka state. In addition the patients from the neighbouring districts of Kerala avail medical facilities from this hospital.
2.GOVT. LADY GOSCHEN HOSPITAL :
Lady Goschen hospital which is the largest maternity hospital in Mangaluru with a bed strength of 500 beds offering service like Antenatal Care, Postnatal Care, Neonatal Care, conducting labour, and family planning. Our Under Graduate and as well as Post Graduate students also posted for their clinical experience.
3.FR. MULLER’S HOSPITAL, MANGALURU :
Fr. Muller’s Hospital at Mangaluru a well known household name for health care service, opened its doors to the people of South Canara in 1880. The Hospital is a Multi Speciality with a bed strength capacity of 1250 beds, mainly specialised for Psychiatry, in addition to General Medicine, General Surgery, Paediatrics, Dental Surgery, Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Oncology, Radiodiagnosis – CT/MRI, ENT, Neuro Surgery and Rehabilitation Centre. Our Under Graduate and Diploma Nursing students are availing clinical experience in this hospital especially in the field of Psychiatry Department.
The School of Nursing has a band of learned, experienced, dedicated lecturers, who can teach, guide and prepare excellent Nursing staff to attain the professionalism in their career. Regular guest lectures by experts, seminars and medical related projects also conducted.
We encourage overall personality development by regular participation in various inter school and other competitions.

The resident wardens ensure welfare of the students. Hygenic and nutritious veg and non-veg food also served in homely atmosphere.
