M.Sc. Biotechnology or Master of Science in Biotechnology is a postgraduate Biotechnology course. Biotechnology is a field of applied biology that involves the use of living organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine and other fields requiring bioproducts. It aims to deliver high-quality courses with strong vocational elements and professional skills development embedded across the curriculum. It, also, aims at training manpower in the thrust areas of Biotechnology such as Molecular Biology, Genetic Engineering, Agricultural Biotechnology, Applied Microbiology, Bioinformatics and Bioprocess Technology. More clearly, Biotechnology is a field of applied biology that involves the use of living organisms and bioprocesses in engineering, technology, medicine and other fields requiring bioproducts. Biotechnology also utilizes these products for manufacturing purposes. The duration of M.Sc. (Biotechnology) is two years and the syllabus is divided into four semesters.

M.Sc. Biotechnology Eligibility

Aspiring students should have passed graduation with any of the Life Sciences subjects (Botany, Zoology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, Biochemistry), B.Sc. Agricultural Sciences.
The students must have secured at least 55% marks in the qualifying examination from a recognized University or Institution.
Candidates appearing in the qualifying examination can also apply subject to their passing the examination before the admissions are finalized.
