NITTE Science Education & Research Center
NITTE Science Education & Research Center an independent teaching cum research facility under Nitte (Deemed to be University). The Centre offers niche courses that have great potential for employment in research. The courses are highly interdisciplinary, application oriented, skill based and provide a perfect platform for those aspiring to take up a career in advanced research and development.
The course curriculum is designed to help students gather not only theoretical knowledge but also gain hands-on practical experience in high-end molecular techniques and tools used in biological research. The impetus is on “One Health” and the various infectious, non-infectious, zoonotic and environmental issues affecting human health. The Centre also offers Ph.D in Biological Science.
Aim
To develop NITTE as a Centre of Excellence imparting quality education, generating competent, skilled manpower to face the scientific and social challenges, with a high degree of credibility, integrity, ethical standards and social concern.
Facilities
Library
NICO has a well stocked library with over 1500 books and a separate section on DVDs. In addition to an excellent collection of books on fims, televison and communication theories, the library also has a good collection of biographies, autobiographies and novels.
Hostel
The hostellers are provided with a cot, cupboard, study table and chair. Every hostel has a solar heated water facility, common telephone, TV room, reading room/library, visitors lounge, water coolers, generators etc. the hostels also have facilities for indoor and outdoor games.
Sports Complex
Students can avail medical and dental treatment at the 1000-bed Multi-Speciality K S Hegde Hospital
