BMS College for Women started in the year 1964 by visionary Late Sri.B.S.Narayan in memory of his father Late Sri B.M. Sreenivasaiah, philanthropist and educationalist, in order to impart quality education for women. The College is one of the premier educational institutions in South Bengaluru functioning under the umbrella of BMS Educational Trust. The college is affiliated to Bengaluru City University and Accredited thrice with ‘A’ grade in 2004, 2009 and 2016 by NAAC. With more than 50 glorious years of experience in the field of education, the college has firmly established its reputation internationally under the able guidance of Dr. B.S.Ragini Narayan, wife of Late B.S. Narayan, Donor Trustee, Member Secretary, BMSET and Chairperson of B.M.S College for Women.
Courses
The College offers UG Courses in Arts, Science, Commerce, Business Administration, Computer Science and Vocational Courses. To equip students with the necessary skills for employment and entrepreneurship, Add-on, Diploma and Certificate courses are conducted throughout the year. The college offers Postgraduate Courses in Commerce, Mathematics and Chemistry. The College has well planned infrastructure and amenities that provide an ideal atmosphere for an effective teaching and learning. The College is recognised by UGC as Mentor Institution under Paramarsh Scheme.
Facilities
Class Rooms
Well-equipped with ICT (Information and Communication Technology) which will enable the classrooms to facilitate the usage of modern techniques in teaching and learning process.
Labs
Chemistry, Botany, Zoology, Physics, Computer Science labs are well equipped, ventilated and spacious to accommodate the experimental activities. School students regularly visit our zoology lab to experience the variety of species and specimens.
Canteen
The campus has a canteen that serves nutritious hygienic and multicuisine food,beverages,snacks at subsided rate.
Seminar Hall
The Seminar Hall in the College hosts events for both students and staff members. The hall is well-furnished, air conditioned and equipped with projector and an audio system which has an access to the internet. It is a go to venue for conferences, workshops, seminars, webinars and many other formal and informal activities.
Auditorium
The College facilitates an Open Air Auditorium for the students and staff. It used for various academic and cultural events of the college and has a capacity to seat around 1000 students. It has also played a host to prominent personalities and many reputed people.
Hostel
Accommodation of international standard that caters to the needs of students coming from other countries situated in the premises of BMS Engineering College.
Health Center
Health centre has an in-house qualified lady duty doctor to attend First Aid
Annual medical examination of the students done at the health center located in the college campus. In case of emergency, services of BMS hospital used. Transport facility is also available to transfer patients from the college to hospital
Book Shop
The College offers photocopying facilities inside the campus which is extremely convenient for both students and faculty.
Bank Facilities
At the time of admission/payment of examination fees, special counters set up in co-ordination with Indian Bank.
To facilitate payment of Examination fees ,Admission fees,special counters set up in coordination with Indian Bank, Basavangudi.
Library
Substantial information and it is enlightening as a knowledge centre. Through our resources, earnestly committed to enhance the quality of learning which has continuous services in our college. Our college library housed on the first floor in a very spacious area and well seating capacity, with a separate reading room and a Reference section, Periodical section, Reprographic section, Competitive Book Corner, Technical section, Display of New Arrivals and so on.The library serves as a central information centre for students, staff and researchers. The Library offers an expansive collection comprising more than sixtythousands of Reference books, Textbooks, Journals (both National and International), periodicals and Other resources.
Placement
The Placement Cell has been active right from its inception in 1999.There is a positive and enthusiastic response from the students. Many students have placed in multi-national companies through campus selection.
