Symbiosis School of Media & Communication, Bengaluru, (SSMC-B) established in 2009 has carved a niche in the field of Media and Communication education through its 2-year full time MBA program in Communication Management, with an industry relevant contemporary curriculum focusing on IMC and Media Analytics.

Our research-oriented faculty equip our media trainees with tools and techniques of strategic media communication including digital strategies to have a competitive advantage as professionals in today’s dynamic media world. This programme is structured to keep students at the forefront of modern media and management practices through innovative pedagogy blending theoretical knowledge with practical application. Hands-on experience through practical workshops, real challenges, and real-time industry projects working alongside industry professionals as mentors, our students develop skills ready to succeed in this increasingly competitive sector, making them highly employable.

Objectives

The academic program is engaging, delivered through a pedagogy that includes group discussions, case studies, experiential learning, seminars, workshops, industry projects and internships that enhance the industry-academia interface, social responsibility projects that sensitize future communication professionals to societal issues and needs. Equal emphasis is laid upon co-curricular activities channelized through specialization aligned clubs and sports. The modern infrastructure caters to the needs of students and the expansive, inviting ambience of SSMC-B has all the facilities of a top- notch institute of this stature. SSMC-B aims to serve the multi-faceted needs of the media and communication industry in particular, and the society in general, through education, training and research. It seeks to train students to be competent, responsible and innovative professionals in the media industry sector, through a program structure that offers students an academic rigour blended with industry inputs.

Course

SSMC-B’s MBA (CM) program has an impeccable reputation as designed to raise the bar of learning. The program  bifurcated into four semesters.

I: In the first semester the students introduced to common courses in media and management as well as introductory courses in the specialization areas such as Advertising, PR relevant to IMC and foundation courses in Media Analytics.

II: In the second semester the students introduced to core modules exploring key elements of business management and also study media issues in depth.

III: The third semester allows students to choose from one of the two specializations IMC and Media Analytics.

IV: The fourth semester includes courses at an advanced level in the two areas of specialization such as advanced strategic management, data analytics, account planning models and practices and also ethics and law, so as to ready them with understanding of society, culture and ethical values as a well-rounded professional entering the media and communication industry.

Infrastructure

Wi-Fi enabled Campus with an uninterrupted Internet connectivity aimed at making the learning a seamless experience.

Design Lab

SSMC-B has a world class, state-of-the-art Design Lab which includes servers, dedicated internet and email access, desktops (44 PC’s and 13 Apple Systems) along with the relevant design software such as Adobe Photoshop CC, Adobe Illustrator CC, Adobe Flash CC, Adobe Premiere Pro CC and Final Cut Pro.

Hostel Facilities

SMC-B has an On Campus hostel facility for girls fully Wi-Fi enabled. An additional comparable facility in the vicinity for boys is provided.

• Residential Gym
• We have 24/7 Medical Facility in Campus. Doctor will be available from 9.00 AM to 5.00 PM and available over phone 24/7. Two Staff Nurse will be available on shift basis (day shift and night shift).
• All the Students and the Staff is insured under the Mediclaim & Road Traffic Accident Policy.
• All Students and Staff will undergo Annual Health Checkup.
• Campus Health Advisory Committee, with 2 student Representatives, Administrative Officer / Office Superintendent, Campus Administrator, RWC Staff and a Medical Officer as the members of the committee
• The Symbiosis Center of Health Care, SCHC, provides an in-house, modern, state-of- the-art Health Club & Fitness Centre with a view to facilitating a holistic development of the mind, body and soul of our students

Auditorium

The Campus boasts of 400-seater world-class Auditorium. It has the latest in projection, light and audio equipment, spacious green rooms, Executive lounge and board room.

AmphiTheatre

The Amphi Theatre looking out into the lawns, extends from the Cafetaria, hence making for maximum seating capacity. Flood lights and sound system facility make for the right out-door ambience.

Library

Library supports the reach and learning needs of the school of Media & Communication. The library offers an outstanding array of information resources, technologies, services .

Library with its modern collection of knowledge resources and innovative information services plays an essential role .

The library includes latest National and International Journals as well as huge collection of books for Media and Communication Studies.

The online library portal is accessible over the network on a 24×7 basis. Users can access full text resources and know the real-time status of various library materials .

The member of the SSMC library has access to more than 40,000 E-Journals, more than 7+ E-Databases .

In addition to the institutionally subscribed resources, the library users have also access to the resources of the central library
