Swamy Vivekananda Rural First Grade College is a non-profit organisation run by philanthropic individuals of the farming community from villages around Chandapura. This organisation is established in the year 1963 under Societies Registration Act, Govt. of Karnataka. It has been serving the society for more than 55 years in the field of education, upliftment of students belonging to labourers, farmers and other economically backward communities. With the blessings of his holiness Sri Sri Sri Shivakumara Swamiji of the Siddaganga Mutt, the first institution viz., Kannada Medium High School, initiated with a section of about 60 students.

Aims

To provide a platform to the rural student community to enhance and exhibit their intellectual, physical, spiritual and creative abilities by deriving the benefits of primary, secondary and higher education

Provide adequate opportunities for the students to pursue their intellectual growth through curricular and extra-curricular activities.

B.Com Class Room

The College has a spacious, fully equipped ITC enabled Classrooms. It provides the pupil-teachers with firsthand experience demonstration and practical skill development to handle with dexterity different equipment. ITC Classrooms are our tool for more effective and efficient teaching. Our goal is to standardize all multimedia equipment in every classroom to allow faculty to have the same technical control and capabilities no matter where they are teaching on campus..

B.B.A Class Room

A state-of-the-art infrastructural facility is an essential ingredient to support sound process of teaching & learning. Classroom at SVRFGC are designed and equipped with the modern teaching facilities like complete terminals with WIFI enable Projectors. The classrooms are spacious enough, well lit, well ventilated and accommodated with the nice tiered sitting arrangements to facilitate proper teacher-student interaction. In order to improve and maximize instructional effectiveness, the following equipment has installed in those rooms:

Library

Library is the perfect space for connection, iteration, interaction, collaboration and inspiration. SVRFG College Library therefore provides a lens through which we can find clarity of focus as we strive to find a ways to enhance learning. The library offers a wide range of academic resources such as books, periodicals, newspapers, online periodicals, online question bank/databank, CDs/DVDs, students’ manuscripts, question banks, bound volumes etc. It is spacious and can accommodate around 100 students at a time. Fully automated with unlimited internet facility which gives the students free access to various academic resources available online.

College Canteen

A canteen is a store that sells food and drink at an institution like a camp, college, or military base. Also small container used to carry water to drink. If you’re at summer camp, you can buy snacks at the canteen.

Auditorium

Jnana Jyothi Auditorium of an Institution has a well-equipped auditorium with a seating capacity of over 450 people. The auditorium is spacious, well ventilated and has well-furnished halls. A regular venue for conferences, workshops and seminars, this auditorium has all the facilities to enhance the learning process and is a vast space that serves the varied requirements of quality education. The objective behind the auditorium is to enhance the quality of education. To make this possible, the auditorium offers facilities such as LCD projectors, screens, white-boards for delivering lectures. It also provides ample opportunity for our staff and students to exhibit their talents in cultural activities.

Computer Lab

SVRFG college has a state-of-the-art computer lab with 40computers at students’ disposal, offering practical sessions for students especially for BCom and BBA students. The primary goals of the computer lab and classrooms is to provide assistance to students that will enhance their chances of succeeding in technology-based classroom assignments and to provide access to equipment that will support the needs of instruction where we celebrate life-long learning. The computer labs support the curriculum of the college and the assignments of the instructors. We encourage you to use these facilities with the help and guidance of your instructors. Accessing Internet a privilege granted for the primary purpose of conducting research, completing class assignments, and gaining familiarity with evolving electronic communications.
