Sri Krishna Institute of Technology Bangalore is situated in the picturesque location of Chimney Hills, Chikkabanavara on Hesaraghatta road has a serene atmosphere, congenial for the pursuit of studies situated on top of a hillock overlooking vast verdant green land and watersheds enthralls the visitors by its captivating beauty.

SKIT undertakes research and development work from many industries and institutions, for the benefit of students. Advanced techniques and methodologies are used in the handling of these projects. The students of SKIT are regularly taken on Industrial and site visits to enable them to observe and thereby learn contemporary practices and processes. SKIT is associated with a wide number of industries for this activity.

Sri Raghavendra Educational Institutions Society

Sri Raghavendra Educational Institutions Society(R) founded in the year 1997 by a great visionary Dr. K. M. Venkataramana. The society has been in the service to the nation in the field of Health and Education. Sri Krishna Institute of Technology (SKIT) is one of the feathers of SREIS. The society is a house hold name in the field of Para Medical education, Raghavendra Hospital, Diagnostic and Research center, College and School of Nursing, College of Pharmacy and College of Education, KMV Red Hills School, Sri Krishna Polytechnic.

The institute has marked a niche in the field of Technical Education with the state of the art teaching equipment, innovative teaching methods, good infrastructure, highly qualified and experienced teaching faculty committed to imparting quality education. The dedicated teachers interact with every student through the proctorial system to counsel and guide them. The office staff is always ready to help the students in their academic and administrative matters.

Facilities

Auditorium

An auditorium to house around 300 audiences with all modern audiovisual equipment is available in the campus. Various technical workshops, seminars and conferences are held here. The hall is also open for students for the cultural festivals. An Amphitheatre, over looking a green and lustrous lawn, is the place for annual day functions.

Library

SKIT Library and information center privileged to support Institution’s march towards its vision. The library has a collection of about 25200 books, 48 national Journals, 100 Bound Volumes of Journals and 700 Project Reports.

To provide ease and efficient access to the information, the entire document collection computerized using library software package “Libsoft”. The database of books available in the library updated on day to day basis. OPAC (Open Public Access Catalogue) made available to facilitate searching and retrieving of books by any author of any subject quickly and efficiently. All students, faculty members and employees of the institute entitled to become a member of the library. Each student can borrow 3 books for 15 days. The entire book collection and library members’ cards have bar coded and the circulation service is fully computerized. A separate reference section provided with seating capacity of 150 wherein students can refer to most modern books on Engineering and Technology and Journals. Digital Library facility has provided to the library users to access the e-resources.

Hostel

Hostels are located in calm and serene surroundings with good atmosphere for studies inside campus. Separate hostel buildings and mess for Both. Both hostels have separate wardens to look after the welfare of the students with care and dedication. Antiragging committee and Hostel wardens take care of the students. 24/7 In-house medical facilities are available.

Transportation

Situated in the center of the city and near to industrial hub of the country which can easily reached by public and Institution transport system. Besides, the college has many buses to provide pick up and drop services to the students and staff from the campus to the different parts of the city on the approved routes which covers a large part of the city.

Cafeteria

The College has a Cafeteria “The Round Table”, inside the campus in which good homely and hygienic food is available at subsidized rates. The administration of cafeteria given to experienced, proficient and committed contractor .Well maintained and remains open on all working days. A committee consisting of staff, students and trustees oversee the functioning of the canteen.

Bank

There is an extension Counter of Corporation Bank for providing banking facilities to the Students and Staff members. The bank functions six days a week. ATM is available in the campus.

Medical Facilities

Sri Krishna Institute of Technology Bangalore has Tie up with Raghavendra PEOPLE TREE Hospital, T. Dasarahalli, Bangalore which provides free medical facility to all staff and students of the college. Dr. Bhavani appointed as the Chief Medical Officer for the campus medical center. Free health checkup camps also conducted regularly for staff and students under Redcross society.

Intranet & Internet

The institute has an Internet connection of 75Mbps 1:1 dedicated leased line. Entire Campus WiFi enabled and accessible by staff and students. The campus internet traffic monitored through a high performance fire wall SOPHOX 230 G model for detection of possible SPAM virus and intrusion.

SKIT ERP system implemented under cloud computing. Also M-square Response Interactive System procured which is compatible and works with most of the video conferencing applications or meeting services including Skype for Business , BlueJeans, BroadSoft, Cisco WebEx, Zoom, Vidyo, Cisco Jabber and Lifesize Cloud.

Computer systems connected to Sun Ray S22 Server having Quad core processor of 3.0 GHz which will cater all the Intranet facilities of the college. All academic progress monitored through Smart Campus System.

E-Learning

The objectives of e-Learning Centre are :

1. Create web-based e-learning facility.

2. Collect, process and disseminate content developed by the faculty drawn from both academia and industry.

3. Provide interaction/guidance/feedback tools to learners and act as a facilitator between the experts and the students.

4. Supplement the conventional system of training and education and bring uniformity in technical education.

Tequed Labs

SKIT has TEQUEDLAB used for placement activities, Placement training, holdings placement interviews. It also helps the students in gaining the knowledge for their academic & overall encouragement.

Stationery

The College has a Stationery, which is the basic requirement for learning, without it, students are incapable of writing down the notes, Records, Internal Assessments, CAD drawing, graphs sheets, as well as taking photocopies. Stationery is essential for making projects report, assignments, observation. It is the basic need of any student learning, without it.

Incubation Centre

Designed to accelerate the growth and success of budding entrepreneurs through an array of business support resources and services that could include physical space, capital, coaching, common services, and networking connections. Its unique and highly flexible combination of business development processes, infrastructure and people, designed to nurture new and small businesses by helping them to survive and grow through the difficult and vulnerable early stages of development.

Training and Placement

The Department of Training and Placement of SKIT is an active center throbbing with various activities all through the year. The Institution has a complete infrastructure for the effective functioning of the department. The Placement Department well-organized and sincerely working to empower students with various qualities and skills to achieve professional and personal excellence.

Training programs and industry-related seminars routine and the students exposed to these kinds of programs from the very first day they step into the college. Prepared to be individuals with logical and analytical skills and with excellent practical knowledge. Also, the department is supporting the students to carry out their internships and projects in reputed Industries.
