The central University library houses the psychology and social work collections, an invaluable part of the teaching, learning, research, and service activities of the School. Librarians are on-staff to provide assistance to student researchers who wish to reference general and subject-specific print and electronic materials.



Psychology laboratory in CMR University is well equipped with all kinds of psychological testing and assessments. It has all the apparatus based experiments and the paper pencil assessment in psychometric testing for undergraduate level as well as post graduate level for clinical and HRDM specialization. Includes a massive number of 68 experiments along with assessments and apparatus based testing encompassing a huge array of psychometric assessments which opens a whole new domain for students who wish to pursue a career in psychology and forms the foundation for the path to being well learned practicing psychologists.Practical experience during graduate study is important for many reasons. Provides an opportunity to apply gained knowledge in the classroom in real world setting.
The psychology lab has well ventilated seating arrangement for students and all the facilities to urge them for a better experience on the platform provided by the university, with experiments ranging from assessing ones mental and cognitive skills, to addressing serious clinical issues like depression and other mental disorders with availability of Becks depression inventory and intelligence tests providing a vast array of tests that are very rarly provided in colleges like Binetkamat intelligence test kit and Weschlers intelligence scale. To add to the magnanimity there are personality testing and the widely popular projective tests like Rorschach and Thematic Apperception Test.




The faculty team at the SOSSH comprises subject experts, practitioners and industry experts. The faculty members have rich experience in the field of their respective specialization.


Industry Interface


The campus has established an excellent interface with leading organizations in various sectors. Professional direction for students is offered by the Career Development Cell through the involvement of key industry professionals who act as mentors.


Internship and Placements


Mandatory internships in organizations are provided based on competency mapping of students’ knowledge and skill-sets with the job profiles.

In addition to the wired network, the entire campus has a parallel wireless Network. The networked resources can be accessed from virtually anywhere in the campus.




A fully computerized and well stocked library with textbooks, reference books, periodicals, journals, newspapers and CDs;


Student Clubs


The School of Social Science and Humanities has formed three specialized clubs: Psychology Club; Literature and Journalism Club; and Community Development and Social Work Club. These clubs provide students opportunity to learn through co and extra-curricular activities.


Social Work in the Field


The community-partnership and experiential learning is an essential part of most of our academic programmes. Students regularly engaged in field-work with aim to:

  • Learn to diagnose and treat mental, behavioural and emotional disorders
  • Prepare to work in direct practice with families seeking support and resources
  • Develop the skills to lead individuals, organizations and communities





Placements for the U. G level students are satisfactory as the students can get work experience for a year or more than a year. But the only disappointment is that you have to sign a one-year contract with the company. Every year, companies like HP, Concentrix, TCS etc., visit the college for placements. The highest salary package offered for a UG level student is Rs. 27,000 per month. Roles like HR, Researcher, Telecalling etc., offered.
