Bishop Cotton Womens Christian Law College Bangalore is the only college in Bengaluru  imparting legal education exclusively for Women. To instill the values of the cause of women more in the minds of young girls and to empower them, this exclusive institution for legal education  inaugurated on 14th July 2002. Ten batches of students have stepped out of our College with flying colours. The Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College recognized by the Government of Karnataka, affiliated to Bangalore University till 2008-09 and from 2009-10 affiliated to Karnataka State Law University and approved by the Bar Council of India. The College managed by the Board of Management of Karnataka Central Diocese of Church of South India.

The Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College the great grand child of the prestigious Bishop Cotton School which found its establishment in the year 1865. In 1911 the School bifurcated and the Bishop Cotton Girls School was housed in Stanford House. In 1985, Bishop Cotton College started which was upgraded to Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Degree College in 1987. They moved into the present campus in 1999. This College dedicated to the cause of women’s higher education which considered to be a vital service to the nation, took initiative to start a Law College exclusively for woman as  felt that woman should know their rights and should fight for their cause. Thus Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College came into existence in 2002.

Facilities

Library

Books pertaining to the syllabus for the course, Biographies and Autobiographies, Fictions for extra reading, Journals of various kinds, case reports and weeklies and dailies get their places in the stacks in the Library. The students motivated to cultivate reading habit. Library usage for two hours a week made compulsory for the students.

Moot Court Hall

Classicaly designed, well furnished and spacious Moot Court Hall. The Moot Competitions conducted for all the 5 year BBA. LL. B. students as well as for 3 year LL. B. students.

Computer Lab

Approximately 20 computers are available. Those who are doing Diploma Course on Corporate Laws will be using the computers.

Auditorium

The campus has a posh auditorium with all the latest audio, video and public address systems.

Canteen

The campus has a big canteen. It offers delicious hot meals and snacks prepared in a hygienic atmosphere. The canteen is open from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM everyday from Monday to Friday

Hostel

Residential accommodation is available in the Trinity Women’s Hostel. Admission in the Hostel will be on the basis of first come first served, to the students admitted in the college. Every effort made at the hostel to provide home comforts. Safety and comfort of the students are the main aim of the college. The college provides bus service from the hostel to the college .

Sports Activities

Annual Sports Day  held in November or January. Facilities for indoor and outdoor games available. Students from all the four Houses take part. Winners and Runners up in various games and athletic events awarded prizes. Individual championship and House championship  also awarded. Rolling shield awarded to the best Marching House.

Placement Cell

Bishop Cotton Women’s Christian Law College final year students and those graduating from this college will have the benefit of a special placement guidance cell, instituted by the College to ensure that potential students placed to their choice. The College is also keen on providing a tailor made programme for each student according to her talents and intelligence. Placement Cell also provides the scope to the student to do internship with Law firms and Advocates.
