Karnataka SSLC exams to be held soon: Education Minister
Karnataka Education Minister, S Suresh Kumar yesterday announced that the Karnataka SSLC exams 2020 would be held as soon as possible. The officials have also been asked to be prepared for the same. The 1 st PUC Exam results are expected today at 9 am. The 2 nd PUC Results are expected a little later. Moreover, the announcement regarding the exams of the state was expected after the lockdown was lifted. The original schedule of SSLC exams was from March 27 to April 9. It was postponed to April 20, 2020, later. However, as the cases continued to rise the exams were shifted further.
In an earlier statement, the Education Minister said, “Board exams for the secondary school leaving certificate (SSLC) and the pre-university course (PUC) have been postponed to May from April, as the lockdown and restrictions on the movement of people are likely to continue till this month-end to contain the coronavirus spread.”
As the situation of the state due to the outbreak of coronavirus is not very convincing there are a few guidelines that are issued by the ministry. The guidelines have been provided by the Primary Education Minister to all Deputy Directors of various Education departments of state.
“Sanitisers, masks, screening, and all guidelines will be followed at exam halls,” said S Suresh Kumar in a statement. The same had been adopted by a university in HongKong while it conducted its entrance examination. Karnataka has reported 651 COVID-19 positive cases so far, informed the State Health Department yesterday.
