About The College
Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management
Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management MSNIM is a premier management institute based at the coastal city of Mangaluru of Karnataka state, India. Our institution is an offshoot of the educational movement initiated by the renowned Theosophist, social reformer and freedom fighter Dr. Annie Besant.
MSNIM was established in 1999, when it became the first private institute to offer MBA programme under affiliation to Mangalore University. We are also approved by AICTE, Government of India. Recently, we have been re-accredited by NAAC with ‘A’ grade.
Our institute offers a two year full time MBA programme leading to the award of post graduate degree by Mangalore University. Excellent infrastructure, experienced faculty, adequate industry exposure and impressive track record of academic achievements and placements make us an educational destination of choice for students from all over the country.
Over the years, we have developed into a leading centre for professional management education, research and consultancy services in this part of the country. In addition to the existing MBA programme, the institute plans to introduce a number of specialized training programs, and to organize seminars and workshops in collaboration/association with reputed institutions and universities in India and abroad.

MSNIM Management Skill Development Cell
Synergy of academic-industry expertise is important for integrated growth of any sector. Academics and industry are not mutually exclusive; they are in fact highly interdependent. This forum enables interactions between academic and industry professionals leading to a realistic and meaningful interaction benefitting both. The following Skill Development activities were carried out under this cell:

Innovation Club
A forum to nurture brilliant ideators and effective problem solvers, this club encourages the students to think out of the box and come up with creative solutions for given problems. The students are put in challenging situations and their ability to overcome mind blocks is enhanced.

Facilities in Manel Srinivas Nayak Institute of Management
MSNIM is housed at Besant Vidya Kendra, its integrated campus comprising academic facilities, hostels and mess, sports and extracurricular facilities.
The 3.5 acres campus is situated in scenic surroundings overlooking the River Phalguni, about 4 kms from Mangalore International Airport The campus is situated along the state highway and is easy accessible by public transport.
Hostel and Food Court
The institute campus includes separate well-furnished hostels for boys and girls. The hostels are well maintained under the disciplinary supervision of a resident warden. The hostels have excellent vegetarian and non-vegetarian canteens serving delicious, hygienically food appealing to both north Indian and south Indian tastes.
Computer Lab
Our institute has a spacious computer lab for use by students. The PC lab enabled by TATA CAPITAL LTD is equipped with latest Dell computers and state-of-the-art technology. Students are encouraged to use laptops and the campus offers Wi-Fi connectivity.
Sports & Fitness
Our vibrant campus life includes the best of avenues for promoting health and fitness. The institute provides facilities for a wide range of outdoor sports such as volleyball, basketball, tennis, and indoor games like carom and chess.
Auditorium & Seminar Hall
Being an active campus with wide ranging academic, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, the institute maintain a spacious indoor auditorium ‘Nethravathi’ with a large seating capacity for conducting various programmes and events. This is supplemented with additional conferences facilities like ‘Swarna’, an air conditioned conference hall and ‘Kavery’, a seminar hall to host seminars, workshops etc.
Medical Assistance Room
Medical assistance room for students and faculty has exclusively provided. The room has examination bed and medical equipments like Stethoscope, BP Monitor, Weighing machine and Thermometers. A doctor visits regularly on alternative five days and also available on call.
The institution has a spacious library and reading room with exquisite knowledge base and exquisite collection of reference material for the faculty and students.
The information resources in the library include print and non-print resources comprising rich collection of subject books, national and international journals, and databases. The library has about 8,024 books and subscribes to 30 periodicals published in India and abroad on key functional areas of management and its allied subjects. In addition, the library subscribes to two on-line databases.
Print Resources
The print resources consists books, periodicals, students’ project reports, company balance sheets/annual reports, general and business newspapers, and special collections including institutional publications.
Books
Library has a good collection of well-chosen books on management and related subjects. Each functional area such as finance, marketing, HRM/HRD, production etc. has wide range of useful books. There are a good number of books on Research Methodology. We also have the best collection of reference books like encyclopaedias, dictionaries, and stock exchange and industrial directories, subject handbooks, statistical data reports and yearbooks.
Special Collections
The special collection includes books and reports published by Harvard Business School, Reserve Bank of India, The Japan Institute for Labour Policy and Training.
Newspapers & Periodicals
Library subscribes to important business and general newspapers and around 30 print periodicals (magazines and journals) published from India and abroad as well research/scholarly publications like Vikalpa, Harvard Business Review, MIT Sloan Management Review etc. The back volumes of journals also preserved in bound form and 625 such bound volumes are available in the library.
Newsletters
In-house news bulletins from various organizations are available at the library.
Students’ Project Reports
The students of B schools during their studies required to do a project work to gain real experience in corporate world and submit a project report to organization and the institute of their study. Such students’ project reports thus preserved in the library for ready reference.
Company Annual Reports
The library has Annual reports of major limited Indian companies for the past several years and these reports arranged alphabetically on racks.

Placement Assistance
The preparation of students for the final placement commences on day one at our institute. Training sessions on self-introduction, cracking aptitude test, crafting resume, group discussion and micro presentation, arranged on regular basis and resource persons from industry invited to engage these sessions. The long history of the college, good corporate relationship and strong alumni network are the cardinal forces behind the successful placement drive of the college. Over 900 alumni are currently pursuing fast-track career with prestigious organizations.
