KLE Society’s Institute of Hotel Management and Catering Technology S.Nijalingappa College is one of the premier and prestigious Institutions of the KLE Society. It made a humble beginning in a rented building near mayo hall on M.G.Road with 200 students and 5 staff members in 1963. Today KLE’s S.Nijalingappa College has grown into a gigantic tree achieving new heights, with more than 6500 students and 500 members of the staff. The fact that the College has been reaccredited with CGPA 3.82 out of 4 (highest in Karnataka) and was accorded a rare status by UGC “College with potential for Excellence” is testimony to this. The college alumni are brand ambassadors across the world spreading the message of KLE Societies’ service in the field of education.

Aims

The K.L.E Society’s S. Nijalingappa College Library inspires intellectual curiosity, facilitates learning, and serves as a catalyst for the creation of new knowledge. Library will be the leading organization in building and maintaining the information and knowledge resources in the field of Arts, Science and Commerce other related field.

Placement

The Placement cell in the college was established in the year 2002 and since then the cell has helped thousands of students in getting jobs. The cell primarily has three objectives viz. Placement, Training and Counseling. The academic excellence at KLE’s S.Nijalingappa College is reflected in its student’s exemplary record in placements in the corporate sectors.
The department of Training & Placement is the backbone of any institute. It has consistently maintained an excellent recruitment record. The graduates of KLE’s S.Nijalingappa College have been recruited by some of the leading Indian companies.

Scope and Need of Placement Cell

The aim of our Placement cell is to bring the student and industrial community together to a mutually desirable employment relationship. It focuses to provide necessary guidance and information to our students which keep them up to date with employment trends. At our campus we provide 100% placements assistance to our students to get employment in top MNC’s, Hospitality Industry, Tourism and Retail institutions.
We have an integrated alumni network for providing quality advice to students on ways to groom their personality according to industry standards.

Activities

• Maintaining database of students to refer them for suitable job vacancies.
• Conducting campus interviews for reputable and professional organizations
• Training students in a minimum in 4/5 star properties for a period of 110 days according to Bangalore Central University norms which will introduce them to the Hospitality Industry for their professional career.
• Conducting training programs on Behavioral Skills and Personality Developments.

In the year 2018-19 College Placement cell is arranged in most of the leading brands in Hospitality, tourism and Retail institutions, on & off Campus Placement drive.

Facilities

Health Center

The college has a health Center with Medical Officer, Dr.Gowri.K who is available in the centre during college working hours.
Activities of the Health Center

• Emergency health needs for staff and students.
• Emergency First Aid service.
• Organising Medical Check-up camps for staff members in college campus.

Sports

Students are provided all facilities to participate actively in the sports and games. Coaching for the students in various games under the supervision of eminent Physical Education Director  arranged. The college has a big playground for outdoor games like cricket, football and volley ball. Indoor sports like Chess, Table tennis, Carom etc. equally encouraged.
The sports department of the college has been organizing inter-collegiate tournaments in Basketball, Volleyball, Cricket, Kabbadi and football. Every year several students from the college are representing Bangalore University in various disciplines of sports.

GYM

Our college has established gym with all modern facilities. Properly maintained by the Physical Education Department. Well equipped Multi-Gym for boys, girls and Ladies staff maintained separately. Well trained Gym Instructor involved in exercise prescription and instruction.  The fitness center designed as a safe and hygienic work out environment.

Library

The K.L.E Society’s S. Nijalingappa College library came into existence in 1963 and the library shifted to the independent building on 2004. In the midst of its excellent setup of academic activities, the library acts as a nerve center catering to the needs of the students and faculty members of the various department of the college.
To fulfill the vision and Mission of our institution, beautiful library was established with initial collection of 300 books and now rich with more than 1,21,629 and unique titles of 21,439. The library completely automated with the Lybarcode and E-Lib Automation Softwares.
