BM Patil Institute of Nursing Sciences

 

 

 

BM Patil Institute of Nursing Sciences established in 1990. It was further upgraded and renamed Shri B.M. Patil Institute of Nursing Sciences in 1998. Recognized by the Government of Karnataka, KNC and INC, New Delhi & affiliated with RGUHS, Bangalore, the institute aims to provide students with a balanced curriculum that combines theory, practice, and orientation to modern medical practices.

The institute’s added advantage is BLDE Association’s Shri B. M. Patil Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, which serves as a training ground for all nursing students. The hospital is equipped with ultra-modern facilities to give students a contemporary perspective on the medical world. Besides, participation in a variety of community health programmes offers students an understanding of society’s healthcare needs.

 

 

Courses

 

 

BSC Nursinng

 

The course of study shall extend over a period of 4 academic years from the date of commencement of his/ her study of the subjects comprising the nursing curriculum to the date of completion of examination. Terms and vacations shall be as notified by the university from time to time.

 

Admission Criteria :

 

1.The minimum age for admission shall be 17 years on or before 31st December of the year of admission.
2.The minimum educational requirements shall be the passing of :

Higher Secondary school certificate Examination (12 years course).

or

Senior School certificate Examination (10+2). Pre-degree Examination (10+2)

or

An equivalent with 12 years schooling from a recognized board or university with science( Physics, Chemistry,Biology) and English with minimum of 50% aggregate marks (PCBE).

3. Candidate Shall be Medically Fit.

 

 

Post BasicsBSC Nursing

 

Admission Criteria

 

1.The candidate must have passed Class 12 in the Science stream with Physics, Chemistry, and Biology (PCB) subjects.

2.The candidate must be a Registered Nurse and Registered Midwife (RNRM) with a State Nursing Registration Council.

3.The candidate must have completed a three-year diploma in General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) with a minimum of 50% marks.

4.Also require the candidate to have a minimum of two years of work experience as a nurse after registration.

 

 

GNM

 

GNM referred as General Nursing and Midwifery it deals with the education of nurses in general health care, nursing, and midwifery. 3 years long Diploma program. Academic program 3 years long and 6 months dedicated towards internship. Internship mandatory. This programme will boost you in career prospects. After completing this course, successful candidates may register themselves as registered nurse or midwife with state nurse registration council.

 

Admission Criteria :

 

The contraction for the GNM course is General Nursing and Midwifery.
Karnataka GNM  Eligibility Criteria

1. Successful qualification of class XII from a known educational board.
2. If possible, science subjects as the main subjects of study at the 10+2 level.
3. A total mark of 45% (40% for SC/ST/OBC candidates).

 

 

Msc Nursing

 

Master of Science in Nursing (MSc Nursing) is a postgraduate degree program in nursing that typically lasts for two years. Designed to provide nurses with advanced knowledge and skills in a specialized area of nursing practice. If you are a nurse who is interested in pursuing an advanced degree, an MSc Nursing degree is a great option. The program will give you the knowledge and skills you need to make a difference in the healthcare field.

 

Admission Criteria :

 

1.The candidate must have passed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSc Nursing) degree from a recognized university with a minimum of 55% marks.

2. Also require the candidate to have a minimum of one year of work experience as a nurse after registration.

 

 

Facilities

 

 

Hostel

 

The college has boy’s hostel facility which provides good hostel accommodation for the students.

 

Library

 

The library in the college maintained in its best manner to allow over 100 students to sit comfortably at a time and refer to those thousands of books in the library on different nursing subjects where the thirst for more & more knowledge . Also possesses current National & International Journals of Nursing magazines on health & fitness, besides CGFNS magazines and books on subsidiary subject in the course. Has a separate 600sq. ft. area for the Helinet Online library with sufficient amount of computer systems with high configuration.

 

Sports

 

There is a vast 10-acre playground, which is ideal for playing cricket, football and kabaddi, conducting track events and outdoor exercises. The indoor recreation hall provides facilities for games such as carom, chess, etc. There is also an indoor stadium.

Transportation

 

The college has two buses with a seating capacity of 60 students used for clinical as well as community posting. Bus facilities also given to interested students who attend prayers at church and temple on Sundays & General Holidays. College buses also used for the college Picnic & Tour .

 

Auoditorium

 

College have a big spacious auditorium of 3000 sq. ft. area, with well equipped Dias, Tables, Chairs, Music system and decoration items, where around 600 students can sit comfortably without difficulty.Also well equipped to conduct the university examination with CCTV camera facility and for conducting various programs of our college

 

Lab

 

The college has a departmental based laboratory facility for the students.
